In honour of Vanessa Palmer, the Friends of Hullett (FOH) have created the Vanessa Palmer Award. The Award was created in 2005
and is awarded to deserving youth on an annual basis.
Vanessa Palmer was born and raised in Southern Ontario. As she matured she developed a passion for the outdoors. In 2002 Vanessa was elected to sit on the FOH Board of Directors. As a director, she was instrumental in developing and creating the Interpretive Centre that was previously located at the Hullett Provincial Wildlife Area. In recognition of Vanessa’s outstanding commitment and achievement to environmental awareness and education FOH are proud to present this award annually in her name.
The award will be presented to students exhibiting an awareness of the environment through achievement or contribution. This award is ideally suited for students starting post-secondary education next year in any type of environmental studies.
Candidates are required to submit a letter to the Friends of Hullett by email. This letter must be received by Friday April 11, 2025 stating their environmental achievements and/or contributions. In addition to the letter the student is required to submit one (1) reference contact to validate their achievements and contributions. The successful applicant will be notified shortly afterwards and will receive a certificate and $500 honorarium cheque at the FOH AGM held on Sunday, May 25th, 2025 at the Hullett Office Complex.
